Marvin D. Bean, 64, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away at 10:13 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2010, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg. He was born June 12, 1946, at Pittsburg, KS, to Milo W. and Louise (Easter) Bean. He attended schools in Parsons, KS and graduated from Parsons High School. On February 25, 1967, he was united in marriage to Linda J. Schubert at Parsons, KS. She survives of the home. Mr. Bean was a self employed flooring contractor for many years. He also worked for Flemings Final Touch, Quality Floor and more recently, The Home Store, Parsons, KS. Mr. Bean attended The First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed many things but especially spending time with family and friends at the lake, working in his yard and flower beds, and barbequing. In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by a daughter, Paula Cares and husband, Wes of Parsons; his father, Milo W. Bean of Parsons; a sister, Joyce Bradburn and husband, Jerry of Overland Park; two grandsons, Brett and Bryar Cares; an aunt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and a daughter, Stephanie Bean. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday (October 9) at The First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend James Sukraw officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the Brenner Mortuary. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10:00 a.m., Friday, to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to the Via Christi Cancer Center and/or The First Church of the Nazarene.
