Lived in Ohio, California, Tennessee, and Illinois. For the last 25 years I have been a practicing attorney, the last 18 of which I have been a public defender with the Kansas Appellate Defender Office. Love my job, lousy pay, everyone hates you until they need an attorney, and prosecutors like to remind you that your clients are the worst of the worst. But that old Sixth Amendment requires that everyone is entitled to legal representation and my job has been, and always will be, to provide the best representation possibe--that is hold the state to its proof. A new challenge everyday. Helped raise my ex-partner's three sons. Those boys are the best(ages 32, 30 and 27). All live in New York, one in the Hudson Valley, the other two in the City. My greatest joy in life came in 2000 when I adopted my daughter Jesse from Guatemala. Brought her home when she was 8 months old and she will be 14 next month. She is smart, funny, compassionate, and has a zest for life. She is also, amazingly, a softball pitcher, a really good softball pitcher. Life as an "old" mom has its moments, but boy is it ever fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
