Johnny Linden: Lindenloft fabulous pizza, smoked charbroiled hamburgers, alpine sub sandwiches, fabulous chef boyrdee spaghetti sauce with mushrooms that you can't buy anymore, awesome deep fried zucchini with 4 parts sour cream & 1 part alpine italian dressing dip. You can go to Mazzio's or Simple Simons Pizza in Ft. Gibson and buy a small amount of alpine dressing and make fabulous sour cream dip at home with 4 parts sour cream to 1 part alpine or zesty italian from the grocery store. It's so much better than plain bland tasting sour cream.
Johnny Linden: The most fabulous hamburgers and BBQ in Muskogee now days are at Runts BBQ. Their smoked char-broiled half pound hamburgers with fresh potato fries are the best by far and their fresh home made onion rings are great, like Bakers Catfish used to make. Their sweet BBQ sauce and chopped beef dinners are the best you will find anywhere.

Johnny Linden: Tanner Sallee, I opened Lindenloft back up after 20 years across from the civic center and had a ball and fabulous food delivered anywhere till 3am. It was open from 2007 - 2014 when I had to sell it because of my health. The new Lindenloft pizza was even better than the classic Lindenloft with the best handtossed pizza crust anywhere and fabulous smoked sausage BBQ pizza. The BBQ and Alpine pizzas were the 2 best selling pizzas. After 2014 the pizza was a disaster. You can get the same delicious pizza crust at Pisanos and the alpine pizza on their all day pizza buffet. The brick fired pizza place between main and 2nd st. on Broadway also has this fabulous pizza crust.

Johnny Linden Thank you so much Gary, I totally agree. Also Goldies like smoked char-broiled hamburgers that were the best I have ever tasted. All the people that never tried Lindenloft don't know what they missed. I wish I could just pay to eat there nowdays.

In the 80's my wife Evalyn, Lance and Randa Dixon and Jennifer Linden and I went to Yellowstone for 2 weeks and almost starved not getting to eat all that fabulous food at Lindenloft for 2 whole weeks. We couldn't wait to get back to Muskogee. We also chowed down at Casa Bonita in Denver, the only Casa Bonita still open in 2020. The atmosphere in Denver is unbelieveable. See what I mean.

Click to see a video of the 2020 Casa Bonita in Denver.

THE CASA BONITAS IN OKC, TULSA, LITTLE ROCK, AND FORT WORTH ARE ALL GONE.

I was there in 1971 on my honeymoon with Sandy Linden, the S of J & S Pizza , even though the video and front of the building say it opened in 1973 and 1974. They can't even agree on the year. We stood in line outside in december 1971 in the cold for an hour & a half just to get inside.
Carol Mosteller: Joe and Lilas, Lindenloft, TG&Y, Kresses, Taco Tico and the Mexican place in the corner of where DHS is now, Taco Hut. That used to be a Clark's store.

Was Lindenloft Pizza in a small strip mall on York back in the 70's? If so, what was the name of the mall and was it on the corner of York and Chandler where Homeland is now?
Shayla Christensen: Are they still open in shadow wood? I’ve been dying for some of their pizza here lately
Tracy Gatwood: Dad sold it 6-1-14 to the landlord Janet Hunter.
Christina Lewis: I remember my dad telling me how he used to skip school with his friends and go to "the mall and get lindenloft's" and many other stories of Muskogee from back in the day, late 70s early 80s. It's created this burning passion for history, especially local history. I wish I could travel back and see for myself how it used to be. After a jr. high football game it would be standing room only with 300 people cramed in there.
Marsha Trueblood Horn: Garlic bread was Creamy italian dressing on bread toasted in the oven
Pam Welch Ross: I'll never forget the train and those alpine sticks.
Derrick Abel: Train is on display somewhere......In Muskogee at Lindenloft.com
ex Cheatham Lindenloft was the hangout back in the day
Carol Coleman: Don't remember the name of Mall area but yes that was where they were. Best place ever
Renee' Moore: It was where Homeland on chandler is now.
Shayla Christensen: Are they still open in shadow wood? I’ve been dying for some of their pizza here lately
Derrick Abel
Derrick Abel Not the same recipe
Shayla Christensen: Damn
Jeanette Hunter Yes we are still
Open in Shadow Wood. We make the same alpine cheese bread, we bought the business from Johnny Linden 3 years ago. Our name is Three Rivers Pizzeria.
Shayla Christensen: My favorite was the alpine pizza because it didn’t have the red sauce that messed up my stomach
Beverly Redfearn Hiser My cousin and I used to go and play the sit down Ms. Pac Man game he had where you played against each other. It was great.
Derrick Abel: It's still around too. I have a new one now.
Donna Genn Johnston It was J&S pizza before it was Lindenloft
Kenneth Alexander: It was still owned by Johnny Linden and his then wife when it was J & S.
Derrick Abel: Johnny and Sandy
anie Doyle Cook Shadow wood mall I think. I worked there for a while. That was 30 some years ago though 😂 Marsha Trueblood Horn: I remember that Janie Doyle Cook i worked at Lindenloft David Adams Not at shadowwood then, at Chandler road mall
Marsha Trueblood Horn: we had some fun back then
Johnny Linden: Chandler Road Mall, the bowling alley in the 50's
Charlene Menees Points There was a clothing store in the mall too call Donna's I brought the dress that I got married in back in the early 70's.
Robin Renfro I worked there in the 70's. It was in Chandler Road Mall.

Johnny Linden: www.lindenloft.com or www.7000songs.com there are over 7000 gorgeous classic songs that you never hear on the radio, that will put you in a fabulous mood and change your life.
Johnny Linden: You can see pictures of the 1980's Lindenloft with the train and the pretty blue & yellow Lindenloft decor in Shadowwood Mall from 2007 to 2014.
Derrick Abel: There is a tab at top right of page for lindenloft's history.
Donnell Thomas: Bowling alley and it was J and S Pizza Palace before Lindenloft and yes it was a on the corner of York and Chandler.
Chris Cummings Sr. I thought it was Lindenwood Mall.

Tammy Chapman Calhoun Lindenloft Pizza opened back up a few years ago in the bottom of shadow wood mall. Had great bbq and alpine pizza. No train but now someone else owns it now.
Derrick Abel: It was the Chandler road mall. I was the last manager there and I closed it down and did cleanup in 1988. I opened Hollywood Pizzeria in the lower level of shadowood mall. Johnny Linden gave me quite a bit of the original equipment and related items. He also developed my dough and we had the original alpine, cooked the correct way. He bought it from me in 2007. He ran it under lindenloft's for a few years and then sold it to Hunter enterprises, the building owner.
Derrick Abel I have the original alpine..I wonder if anyone would wanna buy it?
Larry Cragg You could share the alpine!!! I would go there just to eat the alpine. It was heaven back in those days.
Derrick Abel What if I bottled it and sold it

Beverly Redfearn Hiser Didn't they have shredded lettuce for their salads? Best alpine dressing and their chef salads were awesome.

Bonnie Walker: Yes, they were in the building where Zeps was in the 90's.
Johnny Linden: When Lindenloft closed on 4-1-88, someone opened a bar for a while, then Zepps opened for a few years.
Johnny Linden Someone remembered the 1st bar was called Legends.
Larry Cragg Ok. Derrick you need to come across. Alpine and the garlic bread which was to die for. I’ll buy it. 😜👍 Derrick Abel I have everything to make it. And do every so often
Donna Genn Johnston alias Donna Wilson Lindenloft manager: You can buy Alpine dressing at Simple Simons Pizza in ft Gibson
Chris Liebig Lindenlofts, which eventually became Zepp’s Bar and Grill. Next to it was Ty’s Hamburgers. In the back was Strictly Fitness. Across the parking lot was PJ’s liquor. When Strictly Fitness moved, Silver Buckle Saloon went in back there. It was called Chandler Road Mall. During the later times to my recollection.
Janet Goodwin-Ellis: There was also a bar called Legends.
Amantha Smith: So if you make it often why do we never get any? Hmmm?
Derrick Abel We can go down to my old pizza place some night and have a company meeting and enjoy some real alpine pizza and garlic bread. My treat.
Samantha Smith Sweet!
Johnny Linden: You can get the same exact alpine pizza on the buffet all day at Pisano's Pizza.
Derrick Abel: I'd like to open up a carry out and delivery lindenloft's again. But last time I didn't have community support.
Samantha Smith; I think from the sound of it there would be a lot of support now.
Monica Reece: I was there... Slot actually... Awesome place to eat.
Larry Cragg: I’ll pay to eat there. If I can get the garlic bread like it use to be I’ll eat there everyday.
